It sounds extreme but think of your newly waxed body as an open wound. You need to take care of it if it is going to heal properly. So keep the waxed area clean and fresh and sanitised.
Use an antibacterial soap or an antiseptic wipe if you feel you need it. Tea tree oil and lavender oil are good natural antiseptics.
Its advisable to avoid any activity which will increase your body temperature for 24 hours. Sweating can cause small white bumps to appear on the skin. Whilst the heat from the sun, sauna, hot baths, sun beds can all cause the skin to become super sensitive and in some cases burn.
Ingrown Hairs & Folliculitus (White Pustule Bumps)
These problems can occur in any form of hair removal. Following the advice above is a good start. But to limit the occurence we recommend you exfoliate regularly (every 2 or 3 days) after the 3rd day of being waxed. Use a nylon glove as natural fibres harbour bacteria.
Treatments
Ingrown hairs are hairs that have twisted and grown in on themselves, causing inflamation. Antisceptic alone is unlikely to help remove these.
We offer an ingrown hair removal treatment programme and sell a range of anti bump and ingrown hair treatment solutions for large problem areas. However for the one off ingrown hair here is a tip. Crush an asprin and put it on the ingrown hair. Asprin contains Salicylic Acid which naturally exfoliates the skin, reduces in the inflamation and helps the hair pop out.
Please use this information with caution, this does not replace medical advice and do not use if you are allergic to asprin. If in doubt please speak to your medical practioner.
